For the second time in less than a month, we’re off to the Land of 10,000 Lakes for a brief, work-related visit. We’ll do our best to post from the road, though we may get too caught up in ironing our shirts and watching tonight’s Titans-Steelers tilt.
Oh, and if anyone can recommend a good, cheap place to eat in downtown St. Paul, please advise. No lutefisk, please.

Check out Yelp.com? The reviews have never led me wrong.
Also, Yul Brenner ‘bot of doom is ten different kinds of awesome.

@Jordan: Indeed, Yelp steered me right. They’ve really done a good job with their map widget in recent months–love how the zoom function works now.
Yeah, Brenner’s terrific in “Westworld.” I know he made his name as the King of Siam, but he’ll always be a homicidal robot to me.
Oh, and good to have you back. Been missing your comments ’round these parts.

Cossetta’s on W. 7th in St. Paul is a great Italian cafe. It’s one of my favorites.

Another good option is Cafe Latte on Grand.

@gex: Thanks for the recs. Actually walked by Cosetta’s last night and was intrigued–I’m staying real close. Will make it the next call.

Wow, looks like I know my next download! That shiz looks awesome! (Not that I advocate illegal downloading at all…)

@Lennox: You will not be disappointed. The robots-gone-amok premise can be a little corny at times, though that’s partly due to the fact that The Simpsons did such an excellent job of lampooning it in that fable “Itchy and Scratchy Land” episode. (The one with the celebrated “We need more ‘Bort’ license plates” line). But Brenner is an absolutely kick-ass villain, and there’s something very cool about the vintage sci-fi look.
